The Carol Zambel Treatment Access Fund is named
in honor of Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic client, Carol Zambel.
Carol and her family provided the idea and inspiration to create a fund
that would provide financial support to current clients of CMCC if their
personal situation meets at least one of the following criteria:
- The parameters of the client’s cancer does not provide for
current treatment either through an approved protocol or an accessible
clinical trial.
- Trials and treatments are available for the client’s cancer
but are inaccessible due to financial cost and/or the client’s
physical limitations prohibit traveling to the treatment.
- Trials and traditional treatments are not available and/or accessible
and the client would like to pursue non-conventional therapies.
Very often in this situation, the client has received a Hospice
designation from their primary healthcare provider but wishes to
continue active treatment.
Carol passed away November 2, 2001 in the presence of her family.
She is survived by her family, friends, cats, a beautiful garden and
the Carol Zambel Treatment Access Fund.
