San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) is an essential part of San Francisco’s health care system serving some 100,000 patients each year and referring low-income women with cancer to CMC for over 10 years.
Considered one of the finest public hospitals, SFGH offers compassionate and culturally competent care to a diverse community of patients in more than 20 languages. SFGH is owned and operated by the City and County of San Francisco, Department of Public Health. Over 90% of CMC’s clients served by our San Francisco clinic are referred by SFGH’s oncology department.
“SFGH oncologists, nurses, and navigators can confidently refer our clients to CMC knowing they will receive evidence-based treatment that is well integrated with their conventional cancer treatments. I am impressed with CMC’s ability to work with volunteers in order to provide professional treatment and social services to hundreds of women who would otherwise have no access to them.” Judith Luce, Director, SFGH Oncology Services.
